The ride is surprisingly "soft", I think the 265/75X16 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S help. A bit of roll when cornering hard but not pitchy. Feels
very planted yet you don't feel every bump and hump on the road. Sound insulation is very impressive. NVH very minimal.
Power from the 3.7ltr Vortec petrol engine is sufficient. Peak torque comes in a bit late at 4,600RPM. If it was made for extreme off road condition a turbo diesel power plant would be ideal. Heard there'll be one available in 2008. But we are talking about Penang here, what extreme off road condition? It'll be good for the monsoon season, going downtown after a heavy downpour during high tide, if you know what I mean. On the express way, cruising at 160km/h was effortless but need a slight nudge to get it there if you were cruising at 100km/h. It can be quite thirsty depending on how you drive.
Overall, the Hummer H3 is one of it's kind, it's not as big as its siblings, it rides high, very maneuverable, comfy, good sound system and gives you the safe and secure in a cocoon feel.
Most of all, it commands an awesome presence, on and off road.
I want one!!!!!
